Beyond Beautiful and Boy Scouts

Beyond Beautiful and Boy Scouts has started at Wirth in the 21st Century program.  We are pleased to have them here and are looking forward to seeing everything that they bring to Wirth.

We are currently in the process of planning two family engagement nights.  The first Family Engagement night will be March 24 from 4-5:30. 

Community Service Project

Our community service project for the Spring will be a canned goods drive that we will be donating to the Community Basket in Cahokia Heights.

New Things Coming to Wirth 21st Century!

We are excited to be bringing two new programs to 21st Century.  Starting in February, we will have Beyond Beautiful and the Boy Scouts coming to work with our young ladies and gentlemen.  We look forward to all of the great things that are to come.

Community Service Project

We collected $128.00 for Moms on a Mission and purchased socks for them to distribute to the homeless in the Metro East.  On Monday December 13, we also made Christmas cards for the Moms on a Mission to hand out with the socks.

Teacher Spotlight of the month.

Yolanda Harris is our teacher spotlight of the month.  Ms. Harris is a resource teacher in our district.  She is excited to be participating in the 21st Century this year.  Ms. Harris teaches Kidz Lit as well as Why Try during the 21st Century program.  Ms. Harris enjoys spending time with her family including her fur children (dogs).  She also enjoys rehabbing houses in her spare time. 

Important Dates 

We have 21st Century the week of November 29-December 2, December 6-9, and December 13-16.

There will be no Program on December 15 as our Family Engagement Night will be on that night from 4:30-6:00

Community Service Project

We will be doing a dollar drive to collect money to purchase socks to donate to Moms on a Mission..  Please send a dollar in with your child during the month of December

Exciting News!!!! Coming soon to Wirth Academy...

Starting in January we will be starting a Beyond Beautiful program for the ladies in our program and the Boy Scouts will be joining the young men in our program.  We are looking forward to collaborating with both groups!

What’s Happening

  Welcome to the 2021-2022 Nita M. Lowey Learning Centers After-school Program. This years’ program will be IN PERSON and on Wirth's campus.  I am Mrs. Behan, your Site Coordinator.  This is my 4th year working with the 21st Century program and my first year as Site Coordinator.  This is my 24th year teaching.   Our program runs Monday through Thursday from 2:45-5:45 and includes dinner as well as a snack.   We have some amazing academic and enrichment lessons planned for this school year.
