Fresh and New

Hello parents!!! It’s a new month and the start of new club rotations in our after-school program.  This month we are excited about continuing a few of our original clubs and adding the following new clubs: Digital Expression, Typing, Fall Fun with STEM, & Classroom Bitmoji.

The YMCA will be providing a program with our students called "Fitness for YOUth."  This is a voluntary program that offers educators free access to a health-related assessment for youth fitness, professional development for meaningful implementation, and motivational recognition to empower students to adopt and maintain an active lifestyle.

Nita M. Lowery Learning Centers Afterschool Program at Huffman Elementary

Hello Parents and Students;

The Nita M. Lowery After-School Program at Helen Huffman Elementary will provide a safe and supportive virtually structured environment for each student's well-being during this new learning structure.  Our program looks to enhance parental involvement and support families in their efforts to reach educational goals.  To be in accordance with all teaching techniques, the program will maintain continued communication and collaborate with daytime teachers.

The students will receive advancing academics, enriching activities, participate in cultivating clubs, homework tutoring, and receive a healthy dinner/snack daily.

Our program operates Monday - Thursday 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Some days our program may be a little wild and crazy, but it’s always safe and enriching for all students.

      First day of the program is Monday September 14th and we are excited to meet each of you.  Welcome to the 2020-2021 After-School Program.

November: rANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS MONTH AT HUFFMAN

Huffman

The 21st Century After-School Program has began our Character Education Program.  During the month of November, Huffman has chosen to BE KIND!  In the above picture, Jameon Adams is helping out fellow classmate Antonio Gleghorn, who was having a little difficulty with his zipper.  Another student, Jaylen Jones (not pictured) was able to get the zipper unstuck so that Antonio could zip up and keep warm.

Congratulations to these students for putting forth great effort and being KIND to one another!
